1. Scope
This policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you visit proformaschool.com, use our online learning platform, or purchase our courses.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (hashed), and profile details you provide.
- Purchase data: products purchased, order history, and billing details. Payment-card data is collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe) — we do not store full card numbers.
- Learning data: course progress, lesson and quiz completion, certificates, downloads.
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and similar analytics data collected via cookies and similar technologies.
- Communications: messages, support requests, and survey responses you send us.
3. How we use information
- To provide, deliver, and maintain courses and your account;
- To process payments, issue receipts, and prevent fraud and chargeback abuse;
- To track progress and issue certificates;
- To respond to support requests;
- To send transactional emails and, with your consent where required, marketing emails (you can unsubscribe anytime);
- To improve our content and platform via analytics;
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
Legal bases (GDPR/UK): performance of our contract with you; your consent (marketing, non-essential cookies); our legitimate interests (security, analytics, improving services); and legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers and processors acting on our behalf, including our website hosting and course-delivery platform (which runs proformaschool.com and delivers your courses), Stripe (payment processing), our email provider, and analytics providers;
- Authorities or third parties where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect our rights, users, or the public;
- A successor in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
- Partners you ask us to connect you with (opt-in only). If you expressly opt in — for example, by checking a box asking partner lenders, brokers, or service providers to contact you — we share only the information needed to fulfill that request, only with those partners, and only while your consent stands. You can withdraw consent at any time. We do not share your information with marketing partners unless you opt in, and we never sell it.
4a. Affiliate relationships and sponsored content
We may recommend third-party products or services through affiliate links and may feature sponsored content in our emails or on the platform, and we may earn a commission or fee from these. These arrangements do not involve selling or sharing your personal information — partners receive payment or a referral, not your data, unless you separately opt in under Section 4. We disclose material affiliate and sponsor relationships as required by law, and a recommendation is not an endorsement or professional advice.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies (to run the platform and keep you logged in) and, subject to consent where required, analytics and marketing cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings and any cookie banner we provide. Disabling some cookies may limit functionality.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents (CCPA/CPRA) have the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by law. To exercise any right, contact info@proformaschool.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights and will verify your identity before acting.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide services, then for the period required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations, after which we delete or anonymize it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, and rely on the security of vetted processors such as Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers may process data in the US and elsewhere. Where required, transfers from the EU/UK rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
10. Children
The platform is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party links
The platform may link to third-party sites and services with their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, where required, we will notify you.
